Service Policies

Thank you for choosing Twin Cities Backflow Testing. Our goal is to make your annual backflow testing quick, easy, and hassle-free. Please review the following information before your appointment.

Water Must Be Turned On

If your backflow preventer is connected to an irrigation system, the irrigation water supply must be turned on before your scheduled appointment.

If the water is not on when we arrive, we may be unable to complete the required testing and your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

Irrigation End Cap

A PVC end cap must be installed on the irrigation line for testing to be completed.

If the cap is missing, we may be able to install a replacement for $10 if one is available. If a replacement is unavailable, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

Clear Access to the Device

Please ensure your backflow prevention device is safely accessible before your appointment.

This includes:

  • Moving any items blocking access
  • Trimming excessive vegetation if necessary
  • Securing pets
  • Unlocking gates or fences if applicable

If we cannot safely access the device, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

Appointment Changes

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. We understand that plans change and will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

Payment

Payment is due upon completion of your backflow test.

We currently accept:

  • Venmo
  • Check
  • Cash
  • Credit card (where available)

To ensure timely reporting, test results will be submitted to your city or water provider after payment has been received.

Failed Devices

If your backflow prevention device does not pass its annual performance test, we’ll explain the results and provide the required documentation for your records.

Twin Cities Backflow Testing performs testing only and does not repair backflow prevention devices.

Once repairs have been completed by a qualified repair company, we’ll return to perform one complimentary retest within 60 days of the original test.

Weather

Most appointments proceed as scheduled regardless of weather. However, severe weather or unsafe working conditions may require appointments to be rescheduled.

Limitation of Service

Our service consists of testing the performance of your existing backflow prevention assembly in accordance with applicable testing procedures.

We are not responsible for pre-existing equipment defects, leaks, failures, or repairs that may be identified during testing or that occur due to the condition or age of the device.
